bePilates was founded by Dawne Likhodedova in 2011 (first opening in a small space for private and group classes near Tottenham Court Road) before expanding into larger premises on Chiltern Street in Marylebone to meet client demand and provide a base for teacher training and continuing education.
Inspired by the joy of movement, bePilates offers practitioners fun and challenging workouts, attentive, high-quality instruction and an education about the body that can be applied in lasting ways.

Dawne Likhodedova, Pilates Instructor/International Presenter, is the Founder and Director of bePilates.
A dancer and athlete since early childhood, sport and movement have always played a large role in Dawne's life. A car accident in 1996 came with a new pelvis and an introduction to the many benefits of a regular pilates practice. Her continued practice took her from rehabilitation to athletic conditioning, allowing her to compete at the highest level of international latin and ballroom dancing.
Dawne was part of Balanced Body pilates faculty from 2014-2018 and now runs an in-house classical pilates comprehensive apprenticeship at bePilates and is regularly invited to help studios around the world develop their own in-house programmes.
Dawne has presented continuing education courses at:
- Balanced Body Pilates on Tour London,
- Balanced Body Pilates on Tour Venice,
- the Moscow Open International Fitness Forum,
- the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) Annual Conference, and
- studios around the world to provide in-house training, continuing education and team building activities.
